EcoBrow Defining Wax Review

The Story of EcoBrow

As a teenager, Marco Ochoa (creator of EcoBrow), wanted to express his creativity, but did not have professional drawing pencils so he chose to improvise with his mother’s makeup products. He was drawn to the eyes as an influential feature of beauty. This passion led him to creating the EcoBrow company that has revolutionized the natural beauty industry.

I can definitely understand Marco’s fascination with eyes. As a teenager, I too loved drawing portraits of celebrities and people in my life. It was a necessary outlet to express my creativity. Eyes are truly a unique feature of the human body. Trying to capture the spirit of a person in a drawing or a photo is not always easy because eyes encompass a wide variety of emotions and expressions that sometimes can only be experienced firsthand.

However, Marco has been successful in creating a product that enhances everyone’s natural brow beauty. In addition, all the shades in the EcoBrow line are named after some of Hollywood’s favorite leading ladies {Marilyn, Sharon, Rita, Penelope, Liz and Frida}.

Application Tips

Marco recommends to follow the Dab, Fill, Blend technique. When applying the product, I usually use very little and carefully build up to a deeper color. I don’t really like the dramatic eyebrow look, so for me less is more with this product. I use very short strokes when applying the product and make sure to blend, blend, and blend using a spooley brush.

EcoBrow Liz and Frida Swatches Refreshed Radiance

Neopentyl glycol diheptamate, silica, cetyl acetate, acetylated lanolin oil, ceresin, polyethylene cera microcristallina (microcrystalline wax), nylon-12, cetyl recinolente, dimethicone, natural fragrance, tocopherol (vitamin e). May Contain (+/): Iron Oxides (CI77491/77492/CI77499), Titanium Dioxide (CI77891).

Silica is used to absorb oil and vitamin E helps to nourish the skin and hair.

What I Think

I think it’s the best natural eyebrow product that is available out there. However, there are no organic ingredients included in the product. I do like the performance and it does not smear even on really hot and humid days. I noticed that the Liz shade is a bit warmer than I was hoping so I’m curious to see how Frida looks in comparison (I’ll update my post after trying out Frida). I like that this product can create a very natural look and can be built up to create a dark dramatic look. Overall, this product really helps to frame the face and it’s my go-to eyebrow product. Honestly, I feel naked if I don’t use it to compliment an everyday makeup look.

***Update*** I’ve tried EcoBrow’s shade in Frida. I do like the color for evening looks, but I will stick to Liz for my everyday makeup look because it appears more natural.
